Shamrock Medicaments (India) Ltd (previously Doctor Lifeline Remedies India Ltd) was incorporated in 2001 under the 35 million $ SHAMROCK GROUP. It was formed with the primary objective to serve the Pharmaceutical Industry in the International Market by offering goods and services from India. Later the Company ventured into Custom Manufacturing of Pharmaceutical Raw Materials, Pharmaceutical Intermediates and Chemicals related to the Pharmaceutical Industry.
The Company is helmed by Mr Kalpesh Khokhani, a Chemical Engineer with an experience of almost 30 years in the Domestic and International market, particularly in Production and Marketing. He is ably assisted by a group of experienced Professionals and Technocrats.
Shamrock Medicaments (SMIL) is engaged in 100 % export operations currently exporting to mainly Western Europe and USA. We have an Associate Overseas Office in New Jersey, USA which handles the USA operations of the company including stocking of certain products.
Custom Manufacturing
India has emerged as a vast pool of resources and manufacturing particularly in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare industry.
SMIL has taken advantage of this opportunity and works on the basis of exclusive tie up arrangements with small and medium manufacturing units in India to be able to cater to a wide spectrum of products for its customers.
SMIL has successfully tied up with some manufacturing units (Supporting Manufacturing Units – SMU’s) who manufacture products “Exclusively“ for SMIL under exclusivity agreements. SMIL in certain cases provides technologies, financial assistance, raw materials to these SMU’s who in turn produce exclusively for SMIL
SMIL has it’s won team of Technocrats who are engaged in monitoring closely the Quality and Consistency of the Products as also various compliances. All SMU’s follow Good Manufacturing Practices, are multi-purpose Reaction capabilities, full equipped laboratories and pilot plants ranging from 10 ltrs to 1000 lts capacity. Due to these tie-ups, SMIL is in a position to offer value added quality products at competitive prices.
Exclusive Representation Division (ER Division)
This is a dedicated ER Division representing Customers and Suppliers outside India for their purchasing, selling and business requirements. The SMIL ER-Division enables them to have a Representative Office in India at no extra cost, to ensure the important four factors of “Quality – Cost – Performance – Reliability”. We firmly believe in working FOR and Behalf of our Customer-Supplier and being just an Extension of their company so as to have their presence here.
A Growing Requirement for Representation :
- India being one of the biggest sources for Pharmaceutical and related products has many manufacturers who are constantly competing or changing their product portfolio based on the market trends. This makes it confusing for customers to short-list reliable suppliers without undergoing a “Trial and Error” procedure.
- The four important factors of “Quality, Cost, Performance and Reliability”, only when combined, can ensure the best source from India for the Products the Customer requires. Selecting such a source without compromising on any one of these factors is a difficult task. This is due to communication and co-ordination difficulties and, time required. All this defeats the objectives of the customer.
- Selecting the best supplier is often complicated due to the important factor of time. The co-ordination and communication needed to source and select the “Best” involves a great amount of time, effort and cost.
- Even if the Customer has an effective supplier and approval process in place, it is often found that Customer is “in the dark” vis-à-vis status of their orders and / or services requested as they cannot be physically present here for execution or any enquiries. Due to this, the Customers often have to face a situation where they merely have to “wait and watch” till their requirements have been fulfilled. Same is the case when and if, they have any disagreements with the suppliers with regard to Quality or any other part of the obligations, they are unable to exercise any options for solving the problem.
- In case of Suppliers requiring to sell their products to India, they have to undergo a great deal of market research for their products.
- Markets are huge but tricky. A local presence is a must to keep abreast of local developments, rules, regulations. Compliances too are required to be met and updated from time to time.
- There could be a presence of local as well as international competition and the Supplier needs to be updated on competition as well.
